Training Initiatives Are Empowering Women in the Energy Sector
Creating gender-inclusive workplaces should be a top priority for all organizations. This commitment must span all levels, focusing on providing equal access to opportunities, promoting female representation, and recognizing the contributions of women in the sector.
Recently, Sustainable Energy Africa (SEA), in collaboration with DigSilent Buyisa, hosted the Grid Impact Studies Training for over 10 South African municipalities. With nearly 50% female representation, this initiative underscores the need to prioritize inclusivity and ensure fair access to technical training. The wide array of trainings offered by SEA also serve to upskill and capacitate young women in the energy sector, propelling them to pursue larger roles and leadership positions. By championing gender inclusion, organizations not only amplify their impact but also contribute to building a more equitable future in the technical sector.
